If you already enjoy answering surveys, Side Stash gives that spare-time activity a specific purpose: earning Socks to unlock practical kits. Before you start, know what the reward is, how confirmation works and which tools you can access without taking a survey.
What you earn—and what it can unlock
Socks are Side Socks with no cash value. They unlock kits in the Locker; they are not wages, a cash payout or a job. Survey availability and qualification vary. A survey result must be confirmed by the provider before Socks arrive. Seeing an offer does not guarantee that you will qualify or receive its reward.
Start by choosing a kit you would actually use. At the time of writing, the Weekly Focus Kit is listed at 5 Socks, the Clear Email Kit at 8 and the One-Page Work Sample Kit at 10. Prices and available kits can change, so check the Locker before choosing a target.
Use one StayHomeHire account
Your StayHomeHire account is your Side Stash account. There is no separate Side Stash signup. Sign in and confirm your email, then open My Stash to see your included packs and anything you have unlocked. If you already have an account, use it rather than creating another one.
The Find Your Fit and Follow-Up Without the Guesswork packs are included with a confirmed account. They need no surveys or Socks. Start there if your goal is simply to organize applications or prepare a follow-up message.
A simple routine before choosing an offer
First, decide how much time you want to spend. Read the estimated duration and Sock reward before starting. Check the provider’s explanation of eligibility, data use and completion requirements. Answer honestly and consistently. Do not change personal details to chase qualification.
For example, you might set aside 15 minutes and check whether an available offer fits that window. That is a time limit you control, not a prediction of how many Socks you will earn. If no suitable offer appears, stop and return another time.
Keep a small record if something goes wrong
If a completed survey does not appear to credit, keep the offer reference, date, approximate completion time and any confirmation shown. Follow the support route in the account or provider flow. Avoid sharing survey answers, private profile information or account screenshots publicly. Pending confirmation is not a promise that a reward will be approved.
Make the kit the useful part
Once you have enough Socks, preview a kit, check its current cost and choose whether to unlock it. Return to My Stash to use what you unlocked. A worksheet becomes useful when you put it to work: compare a real role, practice an answer or plan a manageable week.
Explore Side Stash and read the Sock rules before starting. Surveys are optional. Public jobs, employer applications and the free Résumé Center stay free.
