Allied Benefit Systems is hiring a fully remote Billing Coordinator responsible for executing and supporting the end-to-end group medical premium billing cycle for assigned clients.

The Billing Coordinator maintains account setup and rate accuracy, cross-references member eligibility, processes monthly billing files, generates invoices, and validates billing outputs within QicLink and other supporting systems.

This position works closely with Billing, Eligibility, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Client Services teams to resolve premium billing discrepancies, implement account changes, and ensure billing aligns with quoted rates and system configurations.

Essential Functions

• Execute monthly premium billing processes in QicLink, including importing and validating billing files across multiple clients and lines of business with different invoicing rules.
• Generate and distribute invoices based on billing results, client requirements, and service activity.
• Identify, research, and resolve billing discrepancies, including missing charges, incorrect amounts, and system processing issues.
• Create and manage self-bill processes for applicable clients and services.
• Review billing outputs for accuracy and completeness, including validation of rates, eligibility, and service configurations.
• Set up new accounts and implement changes to existing accounts in accordance with client contracts and operational requirements.
• Audit account setups and changes to ensure proper configuration and prevent downstream billing errors.
• Partner with AR, AP, Eligibility, and Client Services teams to resolve billing questions, exceptions, and client inquiries.
• Maintain tracking tools and reporting using Excel, Access, or other systems to monitor billing activity, issues, and completion status.
• Support state reporting and other client-specific reporting requirements related to billing outputs.
• Identify and analyze recurring issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions and process improvements.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and established billing procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s coursework in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in group medical premium billing.
• Working knowledge of group premium rates and member eligibility.
• Ability to produce accurate group premium invoices in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Experience supporting billing processes, invoicing, or data validation.
• Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on billing and data accuracy.
• Ability to identify discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently in a structured, process-driven environment.
• Effective communication skills using Microsoft Outlook and Teams.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data validation, reconciliation, and basic analysis.
• Experience with Power Query preferred.
• Experience with financial systems, billing platforms, or database tools preferred.
• Ability to quickly learn and navigate internal systems, including QicLink and Power BI reporting tools.

Remote Work Requirements

This is a fully remote position.

Employees must have internet service through a cable broadband or fiber-optic internet service provider.

Minimum internet speeds:

• 100 Mbps download
• 25 Mbps upload

Reliable internet service is required to remain connected and productive while working remotely.

Physical Demands

This is a standard desk-based position requiring extended periods of sitting and computer work.

Compensation

$20.00 – $23.00 per hour.

Actual compensation within the range is determined based on the candidate meeting the qualifications and requirements of the position and successfully completing the interview and selection process.
