When an AI Draft Is Wrong, Who Owns the Next Step?

A remote team can generate a draft quickly and still spend an afternoon deciding who should check it. Before you add another AI-assisted workflow, make the review step visible.

Choose the person who approves the result

Name an owner for the final work, not just the tool. Decide what that person must verify and when a second reviewer is needed. A draft can sound confident while containing a wrong number, unsupported claim or missing requirement.

Keep the source close to the output

For a summary, retain the source material or approved reference where reviewers can compare it. For a customer response, check the actual policy and account context. Follow your employer’s rules about what information may enter the tool.

Build a route for uncertainty

Give people a way to pause, ask and escalate. A useful workflow allows “I cannot verify this” as an answer. Keep notes about recurring errors so the team improves the process instead of quietly correcting the same issue each week.

Make it useful today
