Optro has a short-term remote opening for an experienced Benefits Administrator who can jump in during a busy period and help keep employee benefits and leave requests moving.
This is a 60-day temporary W-2 assignment paying $30–$40 per hour, and Optro says candidates who are available immediately are strongly preferred. The position is remote within the United States, with preference given to candidates in the Pacific, Mountain, or Central time zones.
What You’ll Handle
You’ll support employees with benefits questions, new-hire coverage and Qualified Life Events such as changes that affect benefit enrollment.
You’ll also help coordinate leaves of absence, communicate with employees and Optro’s leave vendor, maintain absence records in Workday and review payroll-related reports before they are passed to the Payroll team.
During Open Enrollment, you may also assist with employee communications, Workday testing and updates to benefit resources and documentation.
What They Want
This one is best suited for somebody who already has hands-on experience with benefits and leave administration.
Optro is especially interested in applicants with experience using Workday Benefits and Workday Absence.
You should also be familiar with areas such as:
- HIPAA
- COBRA
- ERISA
- Qualified Life Events
- State and federal leave requirements
- Confidential employee information
Global benefits experience is a plus but isn’t listed as a requirement.
Important Before Applying
This is a temporary 60-day assignment, not a permanent position.
You should also expect your work schedule to overlap with North American business hours. Candidates located in Pacific, Mountain or Central time zones are preferred, and background checks are required.
