When teammates work different hours, the most useful update may be a record of what was decided. A busy chat channel can hold the conversation while hiding the outcome.
Give the decision one home
Use an agreed place for the current answer. Record the decision, owner, date and reason in a short note. Link to background discussion rather than asking the next teammate to reconstruct the whole debate.
Mark what is still open
Separate a suggestion from an approved change. State what needs input, who should respond and the deadline in a named time zone. People should be able to tell whether they are reading a proposal or an instruction.
Close the loop after a change
When an answer changes, update the decision record and point the team to it. Keep enough context to explain why. This helps a colleague starting later understand what to do without waking someone up for clarification.
