Thrivent is hiring a remote Associate Claim Coordinator, Long Term Care to guide claimants, family members, authorized individuals, beneficiaries, and financial advisors through the claims process.

The Claim Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact and relationship manager for claims, helping customers navigate the process from initial claim submission through the final claim decision.

The position also works with care providers and other parties to obtain documentation needed to support claims.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service while serving as a reliable guide throughout the claims process.
• Provide support to claimants, beneficiaries, financial advisors, and interested third parties across product lines.
• Handle difficult callers professionally and use appropriate de-escalation techniques when necessary.
• Navigate ambiguous situations and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
• Use critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve customer and claims-related issues.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and exercise appropriate judgment.
• Manage the lifecycle of each claim according to established service standards.
• Work closely with claimants, family members, authorized third parties, beneficiaries, providers, financial advisors, and claims examiners.
• Maintain a sense of urgency to help ensure claims are processed in a timely manner.
• Simultaneously manage communications between multiple parties involved in the claims process.
• Identify inconsistencies and potential barriers within processes and procedures.
• Partner with team members, business partners, and claims management to improve the claims experience.
• Remain current on processes and procedures and immediately incorporate changes into customer interactions.
• Provide input to help improve inefficient processes and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The position involves regular communication with Claims teams, the Contact Center, Thrivent Advisors, Mutual Funds, Brokerage, New Business, funeral homes, churches and charities, care providers, outside vendors, and other partners.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of professionalism.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism when handling sensitive issues.
• Ability to function effectively in stressful situations.
• Patience and empathy when working with a variety of internal and external parties.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Ability to create and maintain strong business relationships.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to quickly adapt to a changing and dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or college degree.
• Previous experience helping clients and their families through challenging or difficult situations.

Compensation

$21.83–$29.53 per hour.

Actual base pay is determined by factors including geographic location, relevant experience, skills and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other considerations.
