Career Compass / AI Career Lab
Use AI to organize your job search without handing it your judgment, your private information, or your voice. Start with one real job description and a resume you have checked yourself.
Make your resume easier to understand
- Save the job description. Highlight the responsibilities you can genuinely do and the qualifications you can demonstrate.
- Make a two-column list: what the employer needs, and evidence from your work, training, volunteering, or projects.
- Ask AI to identify unclear wording—not invent missing experience. Use straightforward headings such as Experience, Education, and Skills.
- Review every suggested change. Follow the employer’s requested file format and check that copied text reads in the right order.
A prompt you can adapt
Compare this job description with my anonymized resume. List requirements that my resume supports, requirements it does not support, and wording that is unclear. Do not invent qualifications, numbers, employers, or software experience. Ask me questions before rewriting.
No wording, template, or AI tool can guarantee an interview or a pass through an employer’s screening process.
Turn your experience into a stronger example
Start with a fact you can explain: “Answered customer billing questions.” Add the process and outcome only when true: “Resolved billing questions by reviewing account histories, explaining charges, and recording next steps for follow-up.” A precise description is better than an impressive claim you cannot support.
Practice an interview without memorizing a script
- Ask for five questions based on the role.
- Answer one out loud in your own words.
- Ask which details are missing: the situation, your action, or the result.
- Try again with a different question. Keep the facts consistent, not the wording identical.
Keep private information out
Remove your address, phone number, references, customer details, account numbers, and confidential employer material before pasting anything into a tool. Check its privacy settings and your employer’s rules. Do not upload another person’s information without permission.
Your next step
Improve one application today, then stop editing and send it when it is ready. Keep the original and revised versions so you can see what changed.
