Markel is hiring a remote Contact Center Specialist I – State National to provide customer service to borrowers and financial institutions.

The Contact Center Specialist Level 1 responds to inbound calls and performs outbound calls to insurance companies and agencies to verify insurance information.

Schedule

• Monday-Friday
• 12:00 PM-9:00 PM

Essential Job Functions

• Respond to inbound calls from borrowers and financial institutions.
• Perform outbound calls to insurance companies and agencies to verify insurance information.
• Quickly analyze account history using a proprietary computer system.
• Provide accurate information to assist with one-call resolution.
• Perform insurance verifications through outbound calls and the internet.
• Meet individual and team performance standards.
• Maintain good attendance and dependability.
• Demonstrate courtesy and professionalism on all calls to provide a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation.
• Active listening skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to solve routine problems using established procedures.
• Ability to type a minimum of 25 words per minute.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience.
• Previous auto insurance or collateral protection insurance experience is a plus.

U.S. Work Authorization

U.S. work authorization is required.

Compensation

$16.50-$29.95 per hour.

The actual base salary offered to the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors including job-relevant education, experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors.
